A Big Heart at the Centre of the Winnipeg Walk
It is not possible to talk about the Winnipeg Walk within mentioning Nathan Terin of Be:Cause Industries who has been a amazing supporter of Kids Help Phone for over six years. It all started with a benefit concert for Kids Help Phone in support of the Walk and his fundraising and public awareness support continues to grow every year. Nathan with the support of his partners at Be:Cause Industries and an entire community has raised over $27,000 for Kids Help Phone.

The Winnipeg Walk was truly a family affair this year – people of all ages came out to support a great cause. The Magdaragat Philippines dancers made the Winnipeg Walk part of their family day. Before the opening ceremonies even began, children were playing in St. Vital Park with their balloon swords made especially for them by the Klassie Klowns from The Daughters of the Nile. Chrissy Troy from Hot 103, our lively master of ceremonies had the pleasure of introducing a great lineup of entertainment. Goodlife Fitness kick-started the Walk with a dynamic and exciting warm-up Zumba style! Walkers and volunteers alike were delighted with the musical talents of local celebrities Del Barber & Jessee Havey. Central Cheer – Outlaws – amazed the crowd all morning long with their dynamic stunts. Boston Pizza and the Hilton Suites made certain everyone was well nourished by providing a yummy pizza lunch and hot drinks for all.
